Lots of fun and good vibes at the festival "The Sound of Europe": Artists from all over Europe took the more than 3,000 spectators in the Music Pavilion in Düsseldorf's Hofgarten on Saturday, May 6, on a free musical journey through the continent. Starting at 1 p.m. in beautiful spring weather, the three-hour journey took the audience to places such as Ukraine, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Belgium and the Netherlands. "The Sound of Europe" took place for the third year in 2023 in the Hofgarten on the occasion of Europe Day. It is an event of the EUROPE DIRECT Center of the state capital Düsseldorf in cooperation with stadtklang e.V. and with the kind support of Stadtwerke Düsseldorf and Stadtsparkasse Düsseldorf, organized by D.LIVE.
International european acts
Five urban, modern artists with different European backgrounds provided a fresh musical mix, once across Europe - and just as colorful. The program included musical contributions from DJ JOY from Ukraine (House), João de Sousa from Poland/Portugal (Multi-Genre), Elie Sandberg from Sweden (Songwriter World Music), Musgö from Spain (Indie/Folk/Pop) and Aarde aan Daan from Belgium/Netherlands (Indie Poprock). The added value of the European idea - diversity, solidarity and openness - could be experienced directly here in Düsseldorf.
