Jointly with the MTV Germany team, the Cultural Department of the City of Düsseldorf and with an unbelievable response as well as a lot of heart and soul by the creative artists in Düsseldorf, D.LIVE put together a great festival programme for MTV Music Week in a very short time. From 4 to 13 November 2022, the state capital presented its diverse cultural spectrum: Concerts, exhibitions, parties, festivals, DJ gigs and a dance battle – all formats and genres were represented in 17 venues across the city. The great finale of MTV Music Week was of course the MTV EMAs, which were broadcast live from PSD BANK DOME on 13 November.
Together we create more
The closing of ranks between the independent cultural scene, municipal cultural institutes and the club culture scene has proven to be more than successful! We were able to show the diversity of Düsseldorf, having all moved a bit closer together!
Special event formats
While the municipal Theatre Museum was transformed into the “Pink Palace” during MTV Music Week, the NRW-Forum, in cooperation with IMAI, offered reduced admission to the “WONDERWALLS” exhibition. The Dance Battle, organised by FORUM URBANE DANCE ART in cooperation with tanzhaus nrw, and the free:pop series as part of the New Fall Festival also deserve special mention. In addition, the “The Sound of Düsseldorf” city tour was renamed “MTV Music Week meets The Sound of Düsseldorf”.
