6 months of project duration, 2,000 creative heads and many hard-working hands turned the MTV EMAs into an unprecedented event spectacle at PSD BANK DOME on 13 November 2022. The DOME was transformed into a top-class event site with ideal conditions for a live broadcast TV show production. In addition to world-famous acts such as One Republic, David Guetta, Bebe Rexha, Stormzy and Rita Ora, who hosted the mega event together with Taika Waititi, D.LIVE brought one of the world’s most successful female artists to Düsseldorf – Taylor Swift was also attending the MTV EMAs.
The ultimate global music party
After 10 years, one of the biggest global music events has returned to Germany. The MTV EMAs were broadcast live from PSD BANK DOME on 13 November 2022 and aired in more than 170 countries. Today’s biggest stars, young changemakers and superfans joined together for the ultimate global party. There is hardly any other TV show in Germany that is so elaborately produced.
Complete conversion
PSD BANK DOME was turned inside out specifically for the MTV EMAs. Every single room was used. A roof was added over the grandstands and roof load was used to the maximum due to the elaborate technology. In addition, all outdoor areas were used: the Artist Village on P4, the Red Carpet Zone at Parkvogel. This was by far the show with the highest technical effort in the history of PSD BANK DOME.
Parties all around
The MTV EMAs included numerous parties and events around the city: The Ticket Challenge that allowed the biggest fans to get one of the last coveted tickets. The Best German Act Award at Nachtresidenz. The MTV Worldstage with the Gorillaz concert at Tonhalle as well as numerous after-show parties at the end of the show.
